Dan Clark Audio Noire XO
Dan Clark Audio Noire XO
The open-back member of the Noire pair — planar resolution and AMTS treble without the closed-back constraint.
We don't stock this one — we link to shops we trust. If you buy through these links, Sonic Temple may earn a commission. The price doesn't change, and neither does the recommendation.
Why This Is Here
The Noire XO is Dan Clark’s update of the AEON 2 open, and it brings AMTS — the metamaterial tuning from the $4,500 flagships — down to $1,299.99. For home listening in a quiet room, the open back is usually the right call. We list both Noire models so you can decide on isolation, not on guesswork.
Who It's For
Home listeners in dedicated rooms or quiet spaces. Anyone who prefers open-back acoustics at reference planar quality.

The Noire XO is the open-back half of the Noire pair — Dan Clark’s update of the AEON 2 open, rebuilt around an improved driver and the AMTS metamaterial tuning system from the flagship Stealth and Expanse. AMTS does here what it does there: smooths the treble and removes the etch that open planars often carry, without dulling anything.
Open-back means no isolation and no pretense of it — this is a quiet-room headphone. At 13 ohms and roughly 90dB/mW it wants a real amp, not a laptop jack. If you need the same platform with isolation, the closed Noire X gives up less than you’d expect and costs $200 less.
