A DAC — digital-to-analog converter — turns the digital audio in your files and streams into an analog signal your headphones can play. Every phone, laptop, and dongle already has one. What a DAC actually does
Everything digital — a stream, a file, a game — is numbers until something converts it to the analog voltage a driver moves to.
